Boys and Girls U-12 Hockey Camp
Rumsey Hall Hockey Camp attendees have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced independent school coaches—coaches that have trained athletes that go on to compete at prestigious secondary schools.
Taking full advantage of our on-campus Lufkin Rink, U-12 boys and girls will develop their game, have fun, and expand their expertise through competition. Through on-ice skill sessions, practices, and competitions as well as off-ice training, we will challenge athletes to raise their level of play. Our seasoned coaches will teach Rumsey Hall Hockey Camp attendees stick-handling, shooting, passing, skating, agility, and puck control. Our expert-led sessions in technique, speed, agility, endurance, acceleration, and stick skills will propel attendees to achieve their next best badge of greatness.
Rumsey Hall Hockey Camp Attendee Families are invited to:
- Tour our campus
- Attend a Q&A session with Ian Craig, Head of School at Rumsey Hall
- Talk hockey with Rumsey alumnus Mark Naclerio ’07. Mark played professional hockey for the Providence Bruins (AHL), the Reading Royals (ECHL), and Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL).
Coach Craig Naclerio graduated from Rumsey Hall in 2005. From there, Craig went on to play hockey at Loomis Chaffee ('09) where he was captain of the team during his senior year. Craig played for the Division I team at the University of Connecticut from 2009–2010 and finished playing Division II Club at UConn from 2010–13. Craig has been coaching varsity hockey at Rumsey Hall for the last eight years. Craig has been an integral part of the Rumsey Hall Blue Dog's success at the Pavek Cup championships at our own Lufkin Rink. Craig looks forward to attaining his Level 4 certification as coach for USA Hockey after this year.
"Playing at Rumsey allowed me to play against older kids at a young age. That gave me the development I needed and it largely contributed to my ability to go on to play at a higher level. Rumsey was a part of my foundation as a person and as a hockey player."- Mark Naclerio '07, Providence Bruins, Asiago Hockey (Italy), Linz Blackwings (Austria)
